EMP// good deed
Today a letter came through the door for laurie and she didn’t really know who it was from as it was hand written. When she opened it she discovered that inside was her driving licence. It turned out that she had dropped it in a shop and the lady that works there had found it and posted it back.
She included a hand written letter and a business card of hers. It was nice that she took the time to post it back other wise it may have cost a fair bit of money to get a replacement licence.

EMP//Day7 – Good Deed – Litter Picking.
Today my good deed was to go for a walk around my street with a plastic bag and pick up litter and generally tidy up my street. Stratton road isnt that untidy but if iI can do my bit to make it that much tidier then it would make resedents much happier. also if the place you live in looks a mess no one cares for it and this can lead to to fear of going out so overall this small deed could be very beneficial.
I started outside my house then went to my streets park then alonge the main road then back to mine it only too about 20 minute but i found a whole litter bags worth of rubbish and left the road loking that little bit more tidy.as i was collecting crisp packets from a bush i noticed something shiney as i picked it out i discovered that is was a CD Radio ones live lounge volume 2 so I am currently listening to that and it works fine.
As i was picking up litter many cars that passed me looked as if to say what is he doing? is he doing community service or maybe just thought wow someones just picking up litter, which made me feel good that I mite have sparked a passing drivers thoughts to maybe do something good for the day.
A woman walking her dog approached me and asked me what are you doing? i responed just picking up litter to tidy up the street as my good deed for the day. she said that was a good idea so it was nice to be recognised and spread my idea to someone else.

EMP// Back to the drawing board
This is my first play around with my chalk board that i initially bought for a pound to carry out the experiment to see what would make them happy.
I have documented the day, time, date event and reaction and thought the rough style of handwriting is a very personal way to convey the message.
Here i have slightly refined the board and tryed to make it less sketchy but chalk is a bugger to work with . I like this way of documenting and will photograph the board in the situation of my good deed show the bigger picture.

EMP// Over Design
These are my first few good deeds that I carried out whilst at work placing 20p in the vending machine I do like the photograph and the simplicity of the design but today in the tutorial we felt it was slightly over designed for the message and the concept and might look alot more considered if it was more structured and scientific as after all this is an experiment.
Was mntioned was maybe a set of rules for each photograph like 1 meter away from focus i wil keep thinking.

EMP// First Book Design
This is my first design in the format i have chosen. my sheets will be A5 30 sheets mounted on 3mm perspex this will create a booklet type object that will be fairly chunky and will be contained in a wooded box. I feel that this will give the user a nic way of handling the whole piece as well as having the opportunity to shuffle through each of the cards. the overall idea is to inspire the reader to do feel that they too can do something good each day and give them simple ideas for them to go out and do themselves and after reading make them feel happy and pass that good feeling on to friends and strangers around them.

EMP//Recognition Notes
I found this small idea on colour me kate its a simple guesture with not much effort involved just regonising someone that does a brilliant job but goes un noticed “unsung heroes” I could go one stept further and design cards that i could carry around and leave at placed where i feel the person deserves a metaphorical pat on the back but i also like the hand written effect as it seems more person and intimate.
